Luke Medley Goal At Carshalton. Sequence of Photos.

An excellent individual goal from Luke Medley, taking the ball almost from the half way line and scoring. Its not so often that a sequence tells the story but enjoy these.

What else is there in Brentford apart from the football club?

Brentford is a town in middlesex not really known for anything but over the last year became fairly well known in the media for their football related antics. The Warburton issue reached the media followed by the discussion over Matthew Benham and his vision of football being matched with mathematical modelling to replicate the success of his own company SmartOdds.

However what else is there in Brentford? Brentford might be regarded as the gateway to the M4 motorway, or local even to Kew Gardens. However not so many are aware that Brentford sits on the River Thames. Fewer will be aware that the Watermans Centre provides a venue for cinema and drama. Even fewer are aware that the graffiti that covers the walls of the car park in the Watermans Car Park must rate as some of the best in London.

The Penalty for Parking in McDonalds Brentford

Anyone who goes shopping cannot have failed to notice that yellow signs with little writing are appearing, even growing, all over the place in car parks. On close inspection, sometimes with the hubble telescope, it becomes clear that to park for longer than 90-120 minutes seems a crime punishable by death. In fact cameras observe every move of every car but are interested in fact when the cars do not move. In general terms if you park for more than 90-120 minutes you can expect a hefty fine of £100 or more.

This is the case at McDonalds at Brentford, home last week of the excellent Festive burger. Not entirely sure what was festive about the burger, but it was large and had nice sauces and some guilt removing salad inside. While standing outside however I was somewhat astonished to see the bank of cameras covering the small car park. Seemed like I had wandered into Jodrell Bank. I actually have no objection to them doing this, designed to stop football fans parking and cluttering up their car park, but maybe the fines are disproportionately high and the numbers of cameras somewhat excessive. How many might they have in McDonalds North Korea?

Yoevil 3 Brentford 0. Divine intervention fell on the crowd but not the Brentford team

One of the crazy things in football is how Chelsea can be European champions, and even crazier thing is how one week Brentford can effectively beat Chelsea and then lose comprehensively to Yoevil Town.

To be positive a visit to Yoevil is always pleasant, the roads lead straight there, car park right next to the away terrace for a mere 2£, decent programme, but Bees always seem to lose and never seem to have much luck. Essentially, that was the pattern from yesterday, and after Bees missed a few chancesthe writing was on the wall. A lucky rebound for a first goal for Yoevil, a stunning volley for a second and a decent third. Brentford to me played the wrong team from the start with the wrong tactics with the wrong attitude. The pitch before the game looked good, but as soon as the game started it was clear it was a pudding of a pitch. Bees were well beaten, and frankly beaten on merit, effort and luck. Marek Stech the Yoevil keeper looked as good as I have seen this year, other than our own Simon Moore.
