Who Takes Part in Half Marathons? A Visual story from Reading Half Marathon

The answer is a mixture of normally sane individuals who comprise essentially some professional athletes, serious athletes, those collecting for charity who sometimes run and a group of first time runners. The end result is an eclectic mixture. this is the visual story of some of those who took part in the  Reading 2016 Half-Marathon.

I have some favourites and they include:

  1. The blind runner and his guide
  2. The “not young” runner for cancer research
  3. Those who celebrated coming down the home straight
  4. Those who did it for charity
  5. Those whom I was unsure if they were in fancy dress or not

Gradually she has become more adept and uses scalpels, watches YouTube tutorial videos and generally more proficient. She now has become excellent at making these tiny models each around 2 inches tall maximal. Today she has produced various little cakes. a narwhal, HelloKitty cupcakes and other interesting little items. Here are a few samples of her work. Do spread the word.

The Spooky View of Lindisfarne Castle taken from the Graveyard of Lindisfarne Priory

Sometimes places have atmospheres. Lindisfarne or Holy Island has always been a holy place since St Aidan arrived here in something like 700AD to try and preach christianity to the heathen masses at that time. That holy atmosphere prevails. The castle can be seen in the distance with gravestones in the foreground. In the church the ghosts seem to be carrying actively the coffin out. Many of the gravestones in the graveyard have almost disappeared back into the earth and recount the lives of many who have died over the last 300 years. A holy atmosphere prevails still on a lovely islandImageImageImageImage
