More Bizarre Going Ons at Leyton Orient. President charged with kicking Assistant Manager

Seems there has been enough circus at Leyton Orient over the last few years with the demise of the club from being a fellow promotion contender with Brentford from league 1 to now a fairly average league 2 side seemingly shorn of their better players.

The recent incident however after the boxing day victory over Portsmouth takes some beating where their president Francesco Becchetti  has been charged by the FA for allegedly kicking Andy Hessentaller the assistant manager after the game and after their 3-2 victory which ended 10 a side. I leave you to form your own judgement here in the clip.

Brentford 2 Stevenage 0. Farewell to League 1 and Hello Fulham.

Too late to write much. But a real celebration today of all that is good about Brentford football club. In truth a meaningless game but one which meant everything to Bees fans. Farewell to League 1. Having watched Brentford for 51 years this season has meant a lot to me and surpasses any of the previous achievements. Brentford have gained promotion and equalled a club record since 1930 of 28 wins in a season. This is not the time to reflect on the season, that will come, but today we saw a decent game with a decent result 2-0 to Brentford. We saw good celebrations  and we hope that we did not witness any farewells to Marcello Trotta, George Saville nor Alan judge. We long ago forgot they were on loan. Just enjoy a few photos to remind us of a great day. action Bees Bees2 Bees22 Champagne Momen2t Champagne Momen22t Champagne Moment goal IMG_8233 IMG_8270 KOC KOC2 top of game Tr5otta Trotta Trotta2

A Trip to Milton Keynes Dons

There are many opinions about MK Dons and few of them favourable. Visiting their stadium today for the first time was a fairly fascinating experience.

  1. The ground although well signposted as it has no floodlights when one arrives it is really not at all clear that it is a football ground. There is a hotel at the front of the stadium and to a casual observer one is arriving at some multiplex DoubleTree Hilton hotel.
  2. For mere mortals there is no parking at the ground, although as the ground is within a major shopping area, how this is policed is not clear. What however is clear is that getting out of the shopping area parking after the football game might need a lifetime investment.
  3. The ground from the outside looks dull. Black and 50 Shades of Grey. Why?
  4. There are decent KFC and McDonalds on one corner but no signs and effectively hidden from the starving fans
  5. The ground inside was superb. I cannot fault anything about the inside other than the relative lack of toilets and the fact that the toilet floor was covered with some unspecified water, liquid and substances. Not good.
  6. Parking was actually easy opposite the ground in the industrial estates. Escape did take maybe 20 minutes though at the end of the game.

All in all, one of the best grounds I have ever been to.
